Join Oklahoma's SMPS Chapter as we host the planOKC team to present details of Oklahoma City's new long-range plan. The plan seeks to ensure a healthy environment, community, and economy for its residents. With emphasis on green, sustainability and community input, this is sure to be an eye opening program. Speakers from the City of Oklahoma will include Aubrey Hammontree, Senior Planner and Randy Entz, Senior Transportation Planner.
Aubrey Hammontree has worked as a planner in the Comprehensive Planning and Urban Design Division of the Oklahoma City Planning Department since 2000. She is responsible for developing long-range plans, studies, and ordinances, and for managing special projects, such as the Mayor’s Development Roundtable, Downtown Streetscape Master Plan, and the Downtown Walkability Study. Aubrey earned a BS in Environmental Design and a Master of Landscape Architecture from OU. Her background and experience in these fields has enabled her to make Oklahoma City a “greener” place. Aubrey was instrumental in revamping the City’s landscape ordinance, and authored a guidebook about the selection, care and maintenance of trees called Putting Down Roots, which is available as a free public resource. She has been responsible for several of the city’s urban forestry initiatives, including NeighborWoods, tree giveaways, and a native tree inventory. Aubrey is leading both the Parks and Recreation element and the Environmental and Natural Resources element of the city’s new comprehensive plan, called planOKC. Through her work, she hopes to guide the development of a healthy, prosperous, and sustainable city.
Randy Entz is the Transportation Planner for the City of Oklahoma’s Planning Department. He holds a Bachelor’s degree from Oklahoma State University, and a dual Master’s Degree in Landscape Architecture and Regional and City Planning from the University of Oklahoma. Randy has worked in several areas of planning, but became focused on transportation while he worked for the Association of Central Oklahoma Governments. Since joining the City of Oklahoma City in 2008, Randy has worked on transportation projects including the implementation of the City’s Bicycle Transportation Plan, the Functional Classification Plan, and Project 180. He is currently working to increase connectivity and establish minimum levels of service for Oklahoma City’s street network, and leads the transportation element of planOKC, the City’s new comprehensive plan.
